Recovering

The annual Northcountry Fiber Fair was this weekend. I had a great weekend until I came home. Now I am in recovery mode.

1. My house. I do believe that my family has a philosophy that if mom isn't cleaning than the rest of them can't clean either. If mom isn't home, people forget what a garbage can is made for.

2. My body. I took a SAORI weaving class that was two hours long. I seriously thought about calling in sick to work today as my body is sooooo sore. I am assuming its from the weaving class, but could be from being on my feet the rest of the time on concrete, I don't know. Whatever the cause, my legs and back are so sore I can hardly move.

Marvelous Mauve

I am a member of the ScienceKnits Webring. I received my new copy of Chemical Heritage magazine the other day. Here is the cover:

I really enjoyed reading this, as some people have a hard time understanding why a person heavily involved with the sciences would be so attracted to fiber and dying. I am still discovering how much science is really involved in dying and fiberarts. As a teacher, I try to show how everything is a result of chemistry and I am still fascinated by this!

So as the school year begins, I once again look at the merging of my two loves--fiber and the world of chemistry!!
